Dr. Chanel Barnes

Licensed Acupuncturist
Becoming a healer has been a lifelong interest for Dr. Barnes. After attending the University of Oregon, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology, she worked as a chiropractic assistant and tried acupuncture. She became interested in the unique way acupuncture can heal. The concept of healing using simply needles to change the energy flow within the body was intriguing. Receiving the benefits of acupuncture along with chiropractic had inspired her to pursue learning both healing arts. She then continued her education to become an acupuncturist and chiropractor at  Southern California University of Health Sciences. There, Dr. Barnes earned a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and a Doctorate in Chiropractic. Dr. Barnes is excited to bring acupuncture healing at Impact Chiropractic to help support healing of the mind, body and spirit!

He also studied Eastern philosophy that taught alternative ways of thinking and helped shape his next educational direction. After graduation, Scott enrolled in an intensive Master’s program in Oriental Medicine program at South Baylo University in Anaheim, California. He graduated in 2005 with a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Since then he has treated thousands of patients with a broad range of conditions using Acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, massage therapy, and cupping.

During his 15 years in practice, Scott has specialized in musculoskeletal issues, collaborating with physical therapists, osteopaths, and chiropractors. He feels the possibilities are endless with what acupuncture can do for the body and mind. Lynnette Yasukawa

Massage Therapist
I’ve been an avid sports player my whole life, which has taught me a lot about the stress our body endures. I was an EMT firefighter for Cal Fire for three seasons when I decided to go back to school, where I earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training.

My medical and sports background lead me toward an interest in athletic training. I was then introduced to NeuroKinetic Therapy® (NKT), which led me to a certification in massage therapy and NKT.

I’ve worked NKT on all types of people, from Olympic athletes to post-surgical patients—each seeking relief from pain and discomfort. My specialties are deep tissue, sports massage, Neurokinetic therapy, and rehabilitation.
